THE PROJECT “GOOD AND EVIL: HOW TO SELL A LIE” WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE FORTHCOMING EDITION OF THE SAN SEBASTIÁN LAU HAIZETARA DOCUMENTARY CO-PRODUCTION FORUM

As a result of the collaboration agreement that the LAU HAIZETARA Forum of San Sebastián maintains with FIPADOC (International Festival of Audiovisual Programmes of Biarritz), the documentary “GOOD AND EVIL: HOW TO SELL A LIE” has been chosen to participate in the forthcoming edition of the Lau Haizetara Forum in September 2024, within the framework of the 72º San Sebastián Film Festival.

Produced by Luc Martin-Gousset and Clara Vuillermoz (France), with co-production by Harmen Jalvingh (Netherland) and under the direction of Kelly Nyks, this documentary stood out among the 24 projects presented in the “Pitchs Internationaux” section of the current edition of FIPADOC Biarritz (19-27 January 2024) for its potential and for telling a previously untold story. It talks about the Stanford Prison experiment, the most famous study in the history of psychology. And it’s a scientific fraud. Good and evil expose the truth behind the lie.

The selected project will participate in the workshops which will be held over two intense days prior to the forum, and will then be included in the pitching session. It will be given the appropriate tools to perfect both the pitching and the One-to-One meetings held between the producer(s) and agent(s) from the international audiovisual industry (representatives of television operators and online platforms, sales agents, distributors and institutions). It will also compete for the IBAIA -ELKARGI Award, valued at €5,000 for the producer.

It is worth mentioning the presence of several projects that participated in the last edition of the Lau Haizetara Forum in San Sebastian and that have been awarded again, including:

La Pietá, by Pepe Andreu and Rafa Molés, who has just won the “Best International Pitch Award”. The award is endowed by Saya with €5.000 in post-production services.

Singing Wings, by Hemen Khaledi, has taken the “CAT&DOCS AWARD”. €2.000 in cash provided by sales agent Cat&Docs to support a project with high international potential

The continuation of this alliance will boost the presence of projects in two different complementary and specialised markets for the documentary genre, and thus promote the completion of the development and financing process.
