Within the framework of the 64th San Sebastian Film Festival, the 12 Edition of the Co-Production Forum Lau Haizetara, in collaboration with Treeline Distribution, has for the fourth time awarded the Consultancy in Distribution and Festivals award to the project “Impulso” (Impulse) (France).
Produced by Les Films De La Butte and directed by Emilio Belmonte, the documentary tells the story of dancer Rocío Molina and her fusion with contemporary dance. Rocío Molina, at 30, has become a flamenco legend. Both the public and the critics have been won over by her maturity and audacity. In 2016, she is facing one of the most important challenges in her career: the creation of a new show for the Chaillot National Theatre in Paris, where she will be topping the bill next season.
The film “accompanies her in the intimacy of her work, between France and Spain, to understand how she faces the challenge of flamenco dancing in the 21st century, and it brings us closer to the universe of this global artist who was a child prodigy and is today a renowned dancer despite her youth. For three months, from September to November, the film covers all stages of the creation of this new piece until it is premièred in November in Paris.” This journey will be the guiding thread in the film.
Consisting of 2 sessions of advice, a first consultancy session in the development phase and a second session once the documentary is finished, the objective of this award is to offer the best commercial distribution strategy to put in place (choice of distributor or sales agent, television, internet, cinema screens, etc.) and to propose a guide to the most appropriate festivals according to the content and style of the documentary.
TREELINE DISTRIBUTION is an independent sales agent active throughout the world and in all media (TV, Theatrical, Home video, digital platforms, etc.). It also carefully selects the titles it represents, taking into account the key criteria of internationalisation, the fruit of experience acquired over many years of work in the sector.
The renewal of the agreement for another year means the consolidation of this forum as a meeting point of interest for the European documentary industry and the different agents in the sector.
