Both of them will be responsible for the pitching preparation workshops, a training activity prior to the forum, which will be held on 23th and 24th September in Tabakalera (International Centre for Contemporary Culture in San Sebastián).
They will be in charge of directing and working individually and in groups with the producers. Two intense days in which the main aspects to consider before preparing any pitch strategy will be discussed. An exhaustive work on the presentation of both, the storyline and the teaser, will be done, so that the approach will be the most appropriate one, and as attractive and human as possible. The tutors will provide the right tools to extract the most potential from the selected projects and will also refine the one-to-one meetings they will have with the Commissioning Editors.
Both Catherine Ulmer and Ventura Durall are closely linked to the documentary world and have a long career directing and producing projects with national and international presence and recognition. They know closely the ins and outs of a genre that is essential to reflect on the political, social and cultural reality over time.
Organised by EPE-IBAIA (Association of Producers) in collaboration with the Industry Department of the San Sebastian Film Festival, this event has become a landmark event for documentaries and is supported by numerous institutions and organisations backing the development of the audiovisual sector.
