The Lau Haizetara Documentary Forum awards a prize within the framework of Talentuaren Gunea, an initiative to help new professionals in the field of audiovisual production

After the pitching session held last Friday in Bilbao, the Lau Haizetara Prize was awarded to the project Peter by Lucía Montero and Carlota Darnell. The jury chose to single out this work for its high level of development and the clarity of the presentation.

They will therefore have the opportunity to develop the project with the collaboration of professional experts and prepare the pitching session in training workshops two days before the Forum. On the same day as the Forum, they will present their project before an important panel of Commissioning Editors and, to finish, they will have the chance to hold individually-tailored meetings with Commissioning Editors with the aim of specifying possible collaboration agreements.

Other prizewinners were:

➖  D’A Film Lab Barcelona Prize: Ardiek jakingo dute, by June Lasarte.
➖  TP1/Music Library & SFX/Acorde Prize: Koaxi, by Naia Aranzamendi.
➖  Lau Haizetara Prize: Peter, by Lucía Montero and Carlota Darnell.
➖  Weird Market Prize: Ñop Ñop by Ekain Zabala.
➖  Abycine Lanza Conexiones Prize: Magastiko koplak by Oier Bravo and Josep Cabo.

Talentuaren Gunea is a Zineuskadi initiative which aims to give a boost to new professionals in the field of audiovisual production, allowing an in-depth look at the selected projects. It aims to amplify new emerging talents in the Basque audiovisual sector, as well as being a meeting point for producers taking their first steps in the industry.

As a new development, this year the initiative boasted a professional jury entrusted with offering critical feedback to the participants. Said jury, which was present both in-person and online, was made up of: Nerea García Guillén, of Lau Haizetara; Mathieu Béjot, of Sunny Side of the Doc; José Luis Farias, of Weird Market; Igor Heras of Monsters Pit; Pedro Andrade, of D’A Film Lab de Barcelona; Manuel J. Lacasa, of Abycine Lanza; and Arturo Olea, of Music Lybrary &SFX.

This prize highlights the commitment of the Lau Haizetara Forum at a time when the evolution of the sector itself demands that we give a voice to new talents.

We would like to remind you that the 20th edition of the San Sebastian LAU HAIZETARA Forum, which will be held on 23, 24 and 25 September within the framework of the San Sebastian Film Festival, is still open for the presentation of projects until 28 June, via the forum’s website.
