The Lau Haizetara Forum of San Sebastián presents the selection of projects for its next edition

In its fifteenth edition, which will be held between 24th and 26th September within the framework of the San Sebastian Film Festival, the LAU HAIZETARA Documentary Co-production Forum arrives with a selection demonstrating not only its diversity, but also the consolidation of its programming and importance within the documentary industry.

Based on, among other things, creative potential, universality and co-production possibilities, the 15 projects which will participate in the pitching sessions held on 26th September 2019 will be chosen from all the projects received. Hailing from France, Spain, Colombia, Argentina and Germany, they deal with subjects such as seasonal migration, reflections on life, incomplete dreams, social problems, mass tourism and the loss of identity, espionage, sporting values and sacrifice in life.

The chosen titles will also be candidates for the IBAIA prize, worth €3,000 for the production company of the winning project. The jury will comprise the members of the Panel.

In addition, as a result of the collaboration between the LAU HAIZETARA Forum and the FIPADOC Festival (International Festival of Audiovisual Programmes of Biarritz) and DocsBarcelona (International Festival of Documentary Cinema) and the NOKA Programme (mentoring programme aimed at Basque women filmmakers) to boost the presence of projects in two different complementary markets specialising in the documentary genre, the projects  “Ariane, The Impossible Bet-A Space Odyssey”, “Samuel and The Light” and“El Peso” have been selected. These projects participated in the latest editions of said festivals and programmes.

The selected projects will participate in the workshops that will take place at Tabakalera in two intensive days before the forum (24th and 25th September) and during which they will be provided with the appropriate tools to perfect both pitching and one-to-one meetings which the producers will have on 26th September in the Kursaal Congress Centre in San Sebastián.

Meanwhile, registration to attend as a member of the audience at the presentation and/or the parallel activities is open until 25th September. These will take place within the same framework and will aim to bring the audience closer to the cinematographic and cultural reality of Europe.
