A month before the 15th edition of the San Sebastián Lau Haizetara Documentary Co-Production Forum gets under way, we are already beginning to discover the details of an event which, year after year, welcomes more professionals from the cinema industry linked to the documentary genre. ARTE France (France), ETB (Spain), Movistar+ (Spain), RTBF (Belgium), TV3 (Spain) and YLE (Finland) are some of the names already confirmed as taking part in the panel for this edition. A panel which will be made up of representatives of television companies, platforms, sales agents and national and international distributors of the highest level who will try to facilitate the opening up of new international markets for the documentaries presented.
This year, the pitching sessions will take place during the morning of 26th September at the Kursaal Congress Centre. The project director and producer will have 10 minutes to pitch all their project’s potential and show the teaser to the panel members and members of the public in attendance. The “One-to-One” meetings with participating Commissioning Editors will take place in the afternoon. These aim to facilitate financing through co-production or pre-acquisition agreements, and/or to enable proposal development.
In addition, the 15 recently announced chosen titles will also be candidates for the IBAIA prize, worth €3000 for the project’s production company. The jury will consist of the members of the Panel.
Over the coming weeks, the forum organisation will announce additional activities as and when they are incorporated into the programme.
Also, until 25 September registration is open to attend as a member of the audience at the presentation and/or the parallel activities on 26th, which will aim to bring the audience closer to the cinematographic and cultural reality of Europe.
